A man who waved a Palestinian flag during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show has received a lifetime ban from all NFL stadiums and events.

Video footage captured him standing atop the GNX car featured in Kendrick Lamar’s performance during the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Security personnel quickly chased him off the stage and tackled him to the ground.

The flag prominently displayed the words “Gaza” and “Sudan” alongside the Palestinian design.

As security approached, he leaped off the platform and sprinted around the lower level for about 45 seconds, skillfully dodging dancers holding large flags.

Eventually, several security guards managed to catch and escort him away.

New Orleans police are currently considering potential charges against the man, according to CBS News.

“We commend security for quickly detaining the individual who displayed the flag,” the NFL said in a statement. “He was a part of the 400-member field cast. The individual hid the item on his person and unveiled it late in the show. No one involved with the production was aware of the individual’s intent.”

Roc Nation, the company behind the halftime show, also confirmed the protest was “neither planned nor part of the production and was never in any rehearsal.”

This event occurred soon after Donald Trump made headlines with his controversial proposal for the U.S. to “take over” Gaza and displace a large portion of its Palestinian population.
